Pat Mills Comedy Movie ‘Guidance’ Bought for U. S. by Strand.

Strand Releasing has acquired U. S. rights to Pat Mills’ comedy “Guidance, ” which premiered in September at the Toronto Film Festival.

Mills stars as a pathologically immature former child actor who fakes a resume to turn into a high school graduation guidance counselor and thrives as he gives terrible advice. Mills also directed from their own script, which touches on true-life situations since he was children actor on the Nickelodeon series “You Can’t Do this on Television. ”

Dennis Harvey gave “Guidance” a solid review for Variety, calling it “a delight. ”

It’s Mills’ first feature film. His previous shorts “5 Dysfunctional People within a Car” and “Pat’s First Kiss” both screened at Toronto.

Production online businesses are Edyson Entertainment in colaboration with Telefilm Canada. Producers are Alyson Richards and Mike Macmillan.

“Guidance” also stars Zahra Bentham, Tracey Hoyt, Kevin Hanchard, Alex Ozerov and Eleanor Zichy.

Release dates: August 21, 2015 (United States).

Debauchery and archaeology go hand-in-hand in the new trailer for Jake Johnson comedy Digging for Fire.

Writer-director Joe Swanberg's latest comedy Digging for Fire boasts an all-star cast for the bizarre tale of debauchery and archaeology.

Digging for Fire casts Jake Johnson and Rosemarie DeWitt as being a married couple that are set on separate weekend adventures after getting a gun and also a bone buried in their backyard.While DeWitt is romanced by smooth-talking chef Orlando Bloom, Johnson calls in friends like Sam Rockwell and Mike Birbiglia to dig up his backyard.With the weird weekend, stars including Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Jenny Slate, Ron Livingston and Chris Messina enter on the fun.

Lead actor Johnson partnered to publish the screenplay with mumblecore godfather Swanberg, who turned Digging for Fire into his most star-studded feature yet.

Digging for Fire opens on July 25 in america. A UK release is yet to become set.
