Strand
Releasing has acquired U. S. rights to Pat Mills’ comedy “Guidance, ”
which premiered in September at the Toronto Film Festival.
Mills
stars as a pathologically immature former child actor who fakes a
resume to turn into a high school graduation guidance counselor and
thrives as he gives terrible advice. Mills also directed from their own
script, which touches on true-life situations since he was children
actor on the Nickelodeon series “You Can’t Do this on Television. ”
Dennis Harvey gave “Guidance” a solid review for Variety, calling it “a delight. ”
It’s
Mills’ first feature film. His previous shorts “5 Dysfunctional People
within a Car” and “Pat’s First Kiss” both screened at Toronto.
Production

Telefilm Canada. Producers are Alyson Richards and Mike Macmillan.
“Guidance” also stars Zahra Bentham, Tracey Hoyt, Kevin Hanchard, Alex Ozerov and Eleanor Zichy.
